What You’ll Need

Before diving into the creative stuff, here’s what you’ll need to get started:

  • Your Android phone (we’re using the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra here)
  • A Moment T-Series Case (Essential! The 14mm fisheye lens is part of Moment’s T-Series lineup and needs a compatible case to mount properly.)
  • OR a Moment Universal Lens Mount if you don’t have a Moment case (This handy tool works with many phones, giving you more flexibility.)

If you need the case or mount, grab them over at the Mobile Shop.

What’s in the Box?

Moment's packaging always feels premium and the 14mm fisheye lens is no exception.

Inside the box, you’ll find:

  • The lens itself (small, lightweight, and solid)
  • A front lens cap
  • A microfiber-lined protective pouch
  • A quick-start guide

It’s a compact little setup, easy to carry, and even easier to love.

How to Mount the Lens

Mounting your lens is simple but important. Here’s how:

  1. Take your Moment case and align the lens’s bayonet mount with the camera cutout on your phone.
  2. Rotate the lens clockwise until it gently locks into place.
  3. You’ll know it’s mounted correctly when the Moment logo lines up on the right-hand side of your phone.

⚠️ This lens is meant to work best with your phone’s 1x (wide) camera and on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, that’s the middle camera. Don’t over-tighten. Once it locks in with a gentle stop, you're good to go. Forcing it past this point could cause damage.

Align, twist and voila.

Why the 14mm Fisheye is So Fun to Use

This lens is a blast to shoot with. It’s wide. Like, really wide. You can get close to your subject and still see everything happening around it. The field of view is massive, which makes your shots feel bigger, weirder, and way more dynamic.

I like using it for creative stuff like looking into a backpack, capturing a full room from just a few feet away, or filming action scenes where everything feels more alive. It’s especially fun for skateboarding or biking shots because the lens adds this wild energy to the frame.

The look is distinct. It pulls in the edges, curves the world a bit, and gives your footage a completely different vibe than a standard phone lens. If you're into experimenting with your visuals or just want something that feels fresh, the 14mm fisheye is one of the most playful tools you can throw in your kit.

Dial In Your Android Settings

To get the most out of your fisheye lens, you’ll want to shoot in Pro mode on your Android device, either Pro Photo or Pro Video depending on what you're making.

Here are two must-know settings:

1. Manual Exposure

Because this lens gets really close to your subject, it can sometimes cast shadows or make the camera adjust too quickly. Setting your exposure manually will give you more control over lighting and overall image quality.

2. Max Out Your Resolution

This lens captures so much of the scene, and with such wide coverage, you want every pixel to count. Bump your camera settings to the highest resolution possible like 4K video or full-res stills for sharp, clean results.

Time to Get Weird (In a Good Way)

That’s it! You’re ready to get out there and shoot with one of the most fun lenses in Moment’s lineup. Whether you're chasing unique angles or just want something that adds a surreal twist to your everyday shots, the 14mm fisheye lens has you covered. So go wild. Shoot from the ground. Shoot from the sky. Shoot inside your backpack.
